How will you celebrate Mother's Day with your Mum/ kids this year?
I’m hoping for breakfast in bed and a nap! With a 3.5 year old and a 7
week old a nap is the ultimate dream haha. I’ll also be catching up with my
Mum (we’ve both been socially distancing) for a champagne.
What's the best advice your Mum ever gave you? Is she still giving it? HAH!
Best advice my Mum ever gave me was that “Girls can do anything boys can
do”. I have two older brothers so I think she wanted me to know that I
could do and achieve whatever I wanted in life regardless of my gender. I
think it backfired on her when she wasn’t going to let me go to schoolies
but my brothers went - so I pulled out the “but you said girls can do
anything boys can do” haha. Also I call her at least twice a week to check
how long to cook / microwave something.
What does being a mum/grandmum mean to you?
It’s a very beautiful thing becoming a Mum. There’s a lot of joy, a lot
of responsibility, not a lot of sleep but a lot of love. Being a mum
is wanting someone else’s happiness more than your own. And I think it also
makes you reflect on your own relationship with your Mum. For me, I could
never have understood how much my Mum loved me or did for me until I became
a Mum.

How will you celebrate Mother's Day with your Mum/ kids this year?
The only thing I want after isolation is a SLEEP IN! I think it will really depend on the government Health guidelines, in an ideal world, I'd love to see my mum and my mother-in-law and enjoy a meal as a family. Might have to be a couple meals to get through everyone 2-at-a-time!
What's the best advice your Mum ever gave you? Is she still giving it? HAH!
You can do anything, but you can't do it alone. Mum always reminds me that there's no reason to feel guilty when asking for, or accepting help.
What does being a mum/grandmum mean to you?
The hardest and most rewarding thing I've ever done. She boils my blood like no one else in the world, but she also fills my heart with a joy that I didn't know possible.

How will you celebrate Mother's Day with your Mum/ kids this year?
With my mum in New Zealand and me in Australia, we’ll likely be having a glass of champagne and some trivia via FaceTime.

‘Stop cutting your fringe’
I can’t recall a specific worldly piece of advice. But even though I’m 34, she’s my first call If I need advice, or to share good news with, it’s like the good things haven’t truly happened until I’ve shared them with her.
What does being a mum/grandmum mean to you?
I’m a doting fur mum of a five year old doggo (35 in human years), and what that means to me is, when they are unwell, and you are caring for them, I’m just as real of a ‘mum’ as anyone else.

How will you celebrate Mother's Day with your Mum/ kids this year?
To be honest I haven't thought about it - it will be completely different to normal that's for sure. I think it will entail phone call or Facetime with the kids and grandkids. I still have one at home so maybe he'll spoil me with breakfast in bed.
What's the best advice your Mum ever gave you? Is she still giving it? HAH!
She taught me to give your children unconditional love - to encourage and support them no matter what. I think when you know you are loved like that you can deal with whatever life throws at you.
What does being a mum/grandmum mean to you?
For me they are my greatest achievement and joy in life. I'm at my happiest when my family is all together. Having a large family this can sometimes be a real challenge to get everyone in the one place at the one time, but when we do it's loud, joyful, crazy and usually full of toilet humour. What can I say the kids and I have very immature sense of humour, the sillier the better and that is what makes my heart happy.

How will you celebrate Mother's Day with your Mum/ kids this year?
Mum likes it when we're all together even if it's just for something as casual as a cheese platter on the back deck so we'll probably do that or have lunch. As long as she doesn't cook, she'll be happy! And when lockdowns ease, we might squeeze in a trip to Stephanie's Luxury Spa at Cleveland.
What's the best advice your Mum ever gave you? Is she still giving it? HAH!
Oh gosh, I don't think there's been just one piece of advice that rates above all the others. She has always encouraged me to chase my dreams, however big and small - even when they took me to the other side of the world.
And she always tells me to put pants on!
