Outfit of the week: black + animal

This classic mix of our Cate shirt in black (re-stocked) and Gillian animal print shorts (limited sizes remain) will long reign in the style stakes for me. It's what I chose to wear to the launch of Styling You The Label because it was just the right mix of dressed up without being over the top.

It's the Goldilocks just-right sweet spot outfit solution when someone says the dress code is "smart casual" and you're worried that you might not hit the mark.

The key to this sweet spot is in both the fabrication - soft and draping says relaxed, effortless - and the mix of two classic neutrals - black and animal print. Add a nude heel and bag and you're good to go!

Just quietly, I think I'll be packing this outfit for our beach getaway at Easter but I'll swap out the heels for slides or wedges.
