So what IS technical fabric?
When we choose fabrics for the clothes that feature in our collections we are always on the lookout for fabrics that feel good on the skin and are easy-care for you. If they don't pass this test, it's a hard no from us. What is a hard YES is our technical fabric.
So what does technical mean when it comes to a fabric? A technical fabric is made from blends of polyester but not the polyesters you're thinking of. These are woven so the weave of the fabric is breathable. It's also a weave that looks dressed up and feels silk-like on the skin ... without the hassle of hand-washing, ironing or dry-cleaning every time you wear it.
That's why our technical pieces make great travel partners. They roll up to take up next-to-no space and are easy to wash and dry when you're away from home. And, confession time ... I recently spilt coffee on my white Cate technical shirt (yes, I'm a magnet for that!). I just wiped it down with a wet Chux, thinking I'd have to change as soon as I got home but, PRAISE BE, no stain and the shirt was dry in minutes. I'm not suggesting you throw food or beverages on you to test this out for yourself but do wear our technical pieces, safe in the knowledge that they're an easy wash and wear garment (I pop mine into lingerie bags and then hang up to dry as soon as the wash has finished).
P.S. All of our technical pieces are Australian made 🦘🇦🇺
