Yes, Styling You The Label will always and forever be about helping you build a wardrobe of non-boring basics, but we do love a celebration outfit, particularly in the lead up to the year's end.
Event and occasion dressing tips and ideas is also something I'm asked about on a regular basis. The key to nailing your party look and feeling confident is two-fold:
1. Dress to the "dressiness" of the event. Is it smart casual or something more formal? If you're unsure, ask the host, ask others who might be going to the same event. This will ensure you'll arrive confidently, knowing you'll fit in. Having said that, if you're ever unsure, I always err on the side of more dressed up than less. Often this can be achieved with the same outfit but different shoes and accessories.
2. Dress for comfort. While this might seem to some to be an oxymoron when it comes to occasion dressing, stick with me here. Who says that for a dressy look, it must be super structured and requiring of shapewear? Not me and certainly not in the hot and humid summer months. Look for pieces that you'll know you'll feel comfortable in, whether you're at a sit-down dinner or carving up the dance floor. This, in turn, doubles down on your confidence factor.
It was these two premises that helped me to define just what the Styling You The Label 2022 Party Edit would look like.
We have joyous colour - lolly pink, mustard yellow and marine blue. And we have sequins - silver and charcoal. There are dresses and there are separates. And there is quality linen for breathability during the warmer months. Our lolly pink separates purposely work back with the Styling You The Label x Daisy In Dots collection.
We've brought back some favourite shapes in new colours and introduced some new styles we think you're going to love.
We've refined our linen pant, giving her a more tailored look with a functioning button and zip at the front but keeping the elastic for comfort at the back. We think you'll love Akua.
The Hellen lolly pink halter midi dress is the same shape as our Daisy halter midi. The Sarah off-the-shoulder linen dress in mustard yellow is a new relaxed shape that comes with its own tie to create two very different looks. We've introduced a new linen top, the Susan, which is perfect on its own but ideal under blazers.
New in our sequins offering is the Melissa sequin tunic dress in charcoal. She's reversible just like her sequin sister, our Caitlin sequin top. We also have our first sequin outerwear, the Fleur sequin cardi in silver. Like all sequins we do, the lining is stretchy and comfortable. And in the cardi, we've used a lighter weight lining to make it more wearable in the warmer months.
Back by popular demand, our best-selling Sally sequin shorts but in a charcoal; the Cynthia skirt in silver and Deanne tank in silver. Please note the silver is a different colour from last year's Caitlin silver top release. They will tone together but this is a lighter, brighter summer silver lined with white.
Our Lisa linen dress is back but with refinement in the bust size based on feedback last year. And we've added lolly pink to our popular Caroline linen blazer collection.
