Cate technical shirt - black
Cate is our best-selling shirt for lots of very good reasons. Mostly, there's finally a button down shirt that works for your bust AND your hips. I don't know about you but I do struggle to find button-down shirt styles that work for both my bust and my hips. The Cate technical shirt does both. Thanks to its fabrication and shape, it drapes beautifully to create a look that is as much at home at the office as it is for weekends worked back with denim.
This style also comes with so much styling versatility. You can knot her low or high depending on the look or tummy coverage you're going for. You can also wear it buttoned all the way through and left out over leggings. Layer a knit on top when the weather is cooler. You can also wrap the ends around your waist towards your back. Tie at the back or tuck into your jeans or skirt.
Proudly made in Australia.
How you style the Cate is totally up to you. There are so many different combinations possible. Me? I like to roll up the sleeves to balance out proportions and loosely tie the hem to just below my waist.
You could leave the shirt completely unbuttoned and wear as a duster jacket. You could wear it tucked into a pant or skirt. You could double wrap it around your waist. You could tie the waist even higher. You could wear fully buttoned, letting it hang longer over the tummy instead of using the tie.
It's all totally up to you.

Let's talk technical - as a fabric. This is a breathable easy-care; easy-wear fabric. You can pop it in the wash in a garment bag and hang out to dry in no time at all. I hang mine on hangers and find it needs very little in the ironing department, if any at all. Technical fabrics are ideal for travel as they are super light and take up next to no space in your suitcase.
We want to make it as easy as possible for you to work out what size you are in Styling You The Label. That's why we photographed our pieces on each size we're stocking. We've also included each model's measurements as well as each garment's measurements on each product listing.
TIP: Whenever you're shopping for clothes online, it's a good idea to keep your tape measure handy and have your own measurements written down somewhere (maybe in the Notes on your phone) so you can easily look them up and compare them with that listed on our product pages.
We've included at generic size chart below. This is what our patterns have been developed from. Please use this as a guide only and read each individual product listing, which take into account fit/stretch and the shape of the garment, and whether any of our models have sized up or down for a better fit.
Please note: the below chart is different from the charts shown on the individual product pages. Those charts are measurements of the garments themselves (across the body or length from seam to seam).
Our models are mostly wearing the size they'd normally wear; there are a few variations on this but they are included on each product listing. It may not necessarily mean that you size up or down accordingly as it may be because of the shape of the garment and that model's individual size.
