Meet the model: Faaiza
What's your age? 32
What's your occupation? Can I say mum? Because that is one heck of a full time job, lol. I'm a relief teacher, but my passion is my blog where I get to create fusion recipes, creative sweet treats and delectable desserts. You can find me here modestmunchies.com / inst
What did you want to be when you grew up? I had always wanted to be a teacher, I ended up with an accounting degree but eventually found my way back to teaching with a Post Grad.
What would we find most of in your wardrobe? Comfy jeans and airy cardigans that I can throw on easily when dashing out of the house.
Sequins or leopard? This is a hard one, right now I think leopard would be my pick.
Handbags or shoes? Without a doubt... SHOES!!!
Earrings or arm candy? I love a good bracelet or bangle, so arm candy it is!
Sex and the city or Seinfeld? Neither
Michael Jackson or Daryl Braithwaite? Michael Jackson
Pretty Woman or Top Gun? Pretty Women
Bubbles or cocktails? No alcohol for me, I do enjoy a good mocktail.
What's your favourite thing about SYTL? I love how all the pieces integrate with one another as well as with items already in your wardrobe, that they are fashionable yet timeless and that they are generously sized and comfortable.
What's your favourite SYTL piece(s)? I obviously can't go past the Faaiza dress since it was named after me, but my current faves are the Danielle Technical Shirt dress and the Karen Scuba Jacket.
Why is diverse representation in fashion important to you? I think in the current climate, representation in any form in important. I grew up not seeing anyone like me on TV, in movies or magazines and I'd hope that the world my daughter grows up in will be a different one. One that is inclusive and diverse, a world where people like her are seen and heard. It's also important that others see us and know that we are just like everyone else, because beneath our skin we are all the same, we share the same worries, hopes and dreams. We are all striving to be better versions of our ourselves and to do better for the next generation.
